Westsyde Boogie Trail Race 2026

Our 4th annual trail race will be back on Saturday June 20, 2026 with a new, longer, distance!

We will be growing our longer distance to a 21 km race, and keeping our 5 km distance, as well as our 3 km family friendly (and accessible) run/walk option!

The Westsyde Boogie trail race will take place on the Westsyde Trail Network starting from the River Valley Trail and will explore some of our personal favorite trails. There will be some spice thrown into both the 21 and 5 km distances so get those shoes on and get ready to boogie! This trail race is open to the public, but registered Cariboo Run Crew Members will receive a 20% discount code for any distance!

Please be aware that our races are trail races with a lot of elevation, accent and descent! Train accordingly!

2026 race registration will open April 2026

To reduce waste, our event is CUP-FREE. Please bring your own cup for fluids at aid stations and at the finish line. Water and electrolytes will be provided on the course.

All our racers will be treated to beautiful nonstop views of Williams Lake and aid stations will be provided along both race courses, with refreshments and treats. At the finish line 21km and 5km racers will receive a unique finishers medal and a post-race meal.

*Please note that 3km run/walkers will not receive a bib or medal. Strollers are permitted on 3 km course ONLY.

*IMPORTANT UPDATE*

Runners participating in the 21 and 5 km distances MUST be 13 years of age as of June 20, 2026 (race day).

All runners and walkers under the age of 18 on race day MUST have a parent or guardian sign a waver.

Mandatory Gear and Rules for ALL 21 KM and 5 KM racers

This is a trail race. You will be running a trail, outdoors, amongst the trees and the weather.

While we have aid stations positioned throughout the course, runners will need to ensure they are well equipped to support themselves for the duration of their selected distance.

The following is mandatory for all 21 KM and 5 KM runners:

  • Appropriate clothing and footwear are mandatory for all racers; the trails have a wide array of difficulty and variability, and weather conditions can change quickly. We recommend at a minimum, you carry a hat, gloves, a buff and a jacket suitable to the conditions.

  • Your bib must be visible to officials and volunteers at all times during your race.

  • Carry a minimum of 500ml of water and a bottle/vessel for refills.

  • A limited supply of free additional water bottles will be available at aid stations if required.

  • Any required personal medical equipment or prescriptions (ie. inhaler, epi pen etc.)

  • All racers MUST yield to all mountain bikers. The trails will be closed to cyclists from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM for the trail race, however there are many access points and we share these trails. Please yield to mountain bikers.

  • This race is chip timed and all timing chips MUST be returned to the race director or volunteers immediately after crossing the finish line. Failure to return this chip will result in a $100 fine.

Failure to comply in these rules will result in disqualification and/or a fine from the race organizers.

Additional Gear Information:

  • Trekking/running poles are allowed but we ask you do not bring them out until there is enough distance between you and other racers.

  • Earbuds and headphones are not permitted. You are in the wild and on shared trails, you must be aware of your surroundings.

  • Additional emergency gear, like whistles, lights, snacks and small first aid kit and sunscreen, are strongly recommended.
